Juried Member: Amy O'Shaughnessy
Medium: Glass
Biography:
Amy O’Shaughnessy creates glass paintings that reflect her fascination with nature. She uses this vibrant medium to explore the intricacies of a wing on a goose or the flow of water in a wave. Amy’s obsession with detail drives her to make work that is as technically challenging and visually distinctive as the animals and plants that inspire her.
Amy began fusing glass at Hamilton College and went on to earn her MFA from the Rochester Institute of Technology. She moved to New Hampshire in 2003 and began her other career as an Art Teacher in Manchester, where she encourages future artists. Amy’s work is now exhibited in League stores and fine craft galleries throughout the state. Her piece Iguana is in the permanent collection of the Corning Museum of Glass. She spends her spare time gardening and relaxing with her husband, two dogs and two cats.
