Sandwich Children’s Art Collaborative

Sandwich Home Industries and the Sandwich Children’s Center have partnered to offer a summer program of arts and crafts classes for children ages 2 to 12, held at the child-friendly facilities of the Sandwich Children’s Center. Classes include felted flower faeries, painting a bumblebee, and making your own hula hoop. New this year is RADD! - a 2 week children's music program of magical, rhythmical music, dance and drumming based on the hip hop and jazz fusion music of Nairobi, Kenya. Craft Workshops for Teens and Adults

This program provides an introduction to different crafts through workshops that are generally short sessions where the student can create a completed item in one or two sessions. This season's new classes include beginner watercolor painting, making tatted lace, and beading with Deb Fairchild. Returning are some of our favorite instructors, such as basketmaker Eric Taylor, jewelers Sue Mulvey and Paulette Werger, rug hooker Linda Spear, and painter Maureen Bieniarz-Pond. Discover the Spirit of the Maker Craft Demonstrations

Drop by for free craft demonstrations held at the gallery throughout the season. Come meet the artists and watch how they work. You’ll learn about their crafts and their approach to design. Demonstrations are generally held on Saturdays 11:00 to 3:00 or Sundays from 12:00 to 2:00.
