CHAIR CANING FOR BEGINNERS

Bring a chair in good repair but in need of a new seat and a small pail for water, and learn the steps to cane a natural strand cane seat you will be proud to take home. Binder, pegs, awl and instruction guide will be provided.
BASKET MAKING

Participants will complete a large wool gathering basket measuring 12" x 12" x 12". Materials will be reed, with wood base, leather handles and twisted sea grass with Indian cross-stitch around the rim.
PRIMITIVE RUG HOOKING - START TO FINISH

Tuition: $96, Materials: $50
Learn to hook primitive or folk art style rugs in this four week course. Students will need sharp scissors and a rug hooking frame. 14" oak hoop frames will be available from the instructor for $28 at the first session.
Linda has been hooking for 9 years, and has taught in New York State and at the Center for Traditional Arts in Center Harbor, NH. She continues to take classes to improve her skills.
GLASS FUSING AND JEWELRY MAKING

For ages 14 and up.
Discover a wide range of techniques for glass fusing in the kiln. Make a fused glass suncatcher and two fused dichroic glass pendants. Make an ear wire jig and create two sterling silver earrings.
BREAD WEEKEND

Tuition: $96, Materials: $10
Come cook real pizza in a wood fired brick oven! Learn how to mix pizza dough from scratch, and stretch the dough and use a peel to bake pizza. Set up starters and pre-ferments for Sunday bread baking workshop. You will be eating dinner with us and taking home some pizza dough. On Sunday, learn to mix, knead, shape and bake delicious sourdough and yeasted breads in a brick oven. Take home your bread and some recipes to try.
MAKING WIRE JEWELRY AND WIRE WORKING

Coil, wrap, tinker, weave, twine, braid, crochet, knit, twist and much more to make all kinds of fabulous jewelry. Best of all, it’s low-tech and does not require a lot of fancy tools to work with. Bring pliers, wire cutters, masking tape, a Sharpie marker, a mallet, a steel square and a ruler. Instructor will provide 12-28g.wire.

Fun musical developmental activities include singing hello to one another, stretching before class, finger plays, dancing with scarves, working with rhythm sticks and drums, listening to animal sounds.

For ages 2-5.
Get your morning stretch physically and vocally, break out the rhythm sticks and improvise to great folk music. Write and sing basic music patterns and improvise as a team to create new pieces of music. Poetry, improvisation, creative language, the study of animals and fun listening to the sounds of nature.
MUSIC FOR SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN

For ages 6-10.
Study brass, wind, percussion and string instrument families. Perform on simple instruments and learn music from around the world, and music accompanied with sign-language. Play "spelling bee" games to help facilitate learning how to read music AND if any already know how to play an instrument, we will incorporate their knowledge into the class.
FLAT BREAD MAKING
Tuesday, August 12
10-12am
Tuition: $16, Materials: $2
For ages 5-8.
Make corn tortillas and whole wheat chapati from scratch. Students will measure, mix, knead and cook these traditional flat breads, and then enjoy them with homemade salsa, raita and salad. Parents are encouraged to participate if they wish. Bring an apron and be prepared to get covered in flour.
