Stephany Lavallee
Media: Fiber

While stationed in Honolulu 1995-1998 with the
US Army, I met Poakalani and John Serrano, teacher
and designer of the Hawaiian Quilt. The Hawaiian Quilt represents a spiritual legacy of the beauty of nature and the ability of the quilter to interpret and create appliquéd keepsakes.

The design of the appliqués depict tropical flowers, creatures of the sea, beauty of the land and the heritage of the Hawaiian people. Each piece is hand appliquéd and
hand quilted.

Stephany's quilts have been displayed in New Hampshire, New York and Montreal. Most pieces are individually commissioned and can be ordered in various sizesto include pillows, farmable art, and queen size bed spreads.
