Betsy Twombly
Media: Clay

Born in Belmont, MA. Attended Tufts University on a full scholarship. Received a BS in Chemistry/Biology in 1947. Worked as a histological technician at Harvard Medical School for 4 years. Married in 1950 and had 5 children over the course of 20 years. Returned to school in 1970 and received an ASCP in Medical Technology, after which I worked in several labs for 10 years. Then I discovered pottery! I joined a class at Decordova Museum in Lincoln, MA, under distinguished Japanese potter, Makoto Yabe. I was bitten immediately. In 1990 we moved to a new house in Hebron, NH, designed by our architect son, with a studio in it for me!
