Glen MacInnis
Media: Clay

"I've seen enough moonlight through hail holes to know, conclusions drift like blowing snow."
I'm drawn to speed up geological processes and use the elements of the earth to emulate the character of my favorite places and the creatures that inhabit them. The sky and reflections on water inspire the glazing of my pots, while less reflective earth tone glazes work well with the more textural nature of my animal sculptures. It's fascinating for me to have an idea, mix the rocks, metals, bones, and trees of the land, then add shells, sand, salt and coral from the sea. "When the iron had no rust, gulls discussed my presence. When their light bones turned to dust, I swept among the descendants." Glen MacInnis from "No Snow Blows" 2003 and "No Wrinkles" 2000.
