Donna Zils Banfield has been creating works of art in wood since she received her first lathe as a Christmas gift from her husband in 2001. Donna's skills on the lathe were self-taught. Her carving techniques and designs evolved after studying under several internationally recognized fine art and craft masters. Working in her studio in Derry NH, the wood comes primarily from trees that have succumbed to disease, storm damage or urban development. She takes what would be the end of one life, and gives it a new one, a life less ordinary.
Turned walnut wood bowl by Donna Zils Banfield; food safe; 2 3/4″ tall, 11 3/8″ rim diameter.
